They really are busy regenerating this area and this chap is putting that to good use busking on the large revamped square in front of the Hotel de Ville.

| Pink piano on wheels |
He busks, not on your usual more portable instrument such as a guitar, but on a shocking pink, somewhat battered piano, cleverly mounted on a dolly. He must keep it somehwere near the square overnight and then during the day he trundles it out to entertain. Perhaps one of the cafés allows him to store it overnight.
When we took these photos it was towards the end of the day and he was obviously taking a break and more focused on a good chat than entertaining ....

Where else but France would you find a pink piano for busking? What a 'grand' sight!!

That's brilliant! You can't beat a good busker. They're just so informal. It's a shame many cities over here are clamping down on them.

That does look like a fun kind of bloke. I always stop and admire and contribute towards the young piper busking in Buchanan St on my way to John Lewis in Glasgow. Dressed to the nines and he's pretty good.
I love hearing buskers if they can actually play. Standing in the sunshine listening to someone playing a shocking-pink piano sounds like a great way to pass the odd half-hour. :-)

@Craig - he's pretty jolly and it does make a change from 'guitar person'. If buskers are good I always stop and listen and donate something too.

That sounds like a lot of fun to listen to this guy! I have heard a lot about Poitiers but have never been there. Maybe next time we go to France… I hope we go to France next year as I miss it.
