Tinka does cute

Tinka, as friends and regular readers of our blog know, is as mad a proverbial box of frogs. She likes cars -- trying to get her out when we open the doors to go somewhere can lead to a serious chase round the seats; she is obsessed with fleece clothing, she is not bothered by the vaccuum cleaner nor the ride-on mower. She also does cute very very well when the mood takes her, and yesterday she was extra cute!
Oh my face is in the sun
Yesterday she discovered the clean laundry pile which was on the window seat in the guest bedroom. A fleece was on top of the pile. Mademoiselle settled down for a nap. As it became warmer she relocated from the fleece to the other half of the window seat and ended up half in on the seat, half out on the window sill.
That's better...it's darn hot
She snoozed like that for quite some time before waking up and deciding to join us below. Happliy this time she didn't use the parasol as her route down. She's done that a time or two and 'rides' the parasol as it tips over, jumping off when it is about to crash to the ground. Mostly she drops to a lower part of the roof and using one of the shutters as a staging point jumps to the ground.

Oh you're down there are you?
Both cats make the roof their own and chase lizards up there which isn't a big problem but they are often the major culprits in dislodging the old tuiles plats [flat roof tiles] which then break and/or slide into the guttering or onto the drive.
Hang on I'll come and join you
Just as well we have a good stock of spares.

She is quite gorgeous.
I could do without a cat bombing when sitting under the parasol though...

@Fly - so could we! The first time it happened it gave us quite a fright!

She's so pretty, anyone could forgive her for being a little....eccentric!
Would love to see a video of the parasol trick.....

If ever you are thinking about putting her up for adoption ... please don't look any further. I think Katinka and I would hit it off ... Simply love her kinky, yet intelligent personality! :)) Martine

Looks like cute comes naturally to some cats!

She's adorable and mischievous at the same time. Rather clever of her to work out that the parasol is in fact her own personal parachute.

@Jean - as we were sitting under it at the time we had no chance! :-) But yes it would have made a great video

@Martine - We could send her for a visit ... but be warned she is quite demanding of her "staff"! ;-)

@Morning AJ - oh yes she does it VERY well .... sigh

@Craig - she has very little fear and having crashed to earth this way once did at least twice more last summer.

Most cats would do that once, pretend that they meant to do it and then never ever do it again.

Our cat at 17 likes to sleep alot - in the linen closet, on the bed and during our winter, on the central heating vents.

What a little tinker.
Lucky they have nine lives.

@Leon & Sue - in the winter we lose the fight for the bed. There's Tinka on one side pushing at Niall and Shadow on the other claiming my space :-)

@Rusty - Oh she is!! and she often has an encounter with the plant sprayer! [to remove her from where she shouldn't be]

What a lovely series of photos. I love cats with character and she seems to be at the top of the list. Hope all well up there. Diane

@Diane - all well here. Enjoying the weather :-)

And yes she does have character .... in spades!!

And she does it very well. :-) What a beauty and she obviously has personality in spades. Mind you, the parasol bombing could wear a bit thin.....

Niall & Antoinette said...

@Perpetua - her markings are lovely and extremely symmetrical which with her colourway makes her quite a pretty little feline :-) Thankfully coming down via the shutter is fun too.

I was amazed to find Lucy up on the roof this morning, calmly walking along the ridge tiles as if she was on the ground. Fortunately our roof has new 'old-looking' tiles which interlock into a snug fit. Not sure Lester would appreciate having to go up onto the roof to fix tiles dislodged by the cat!

@Vera - cats seem to love being high up.

Sometimes wish we had interlocking tiles instead of the traditional tuiles -- but they are 'right' for the house.
