Bright Green Crutches

On Wednesday I had my op and all has gone extremely well. The consultant is pleased as is the physio, who, after walking me up and down the corridor yesterday, has now told me it is up to me to decide how much exercise I feel I can take with my bright green crutches.

Courtyard garden at the hospital
So I have gone for short walks along the corridor outside my room and am pleased to be independent again--after a fashion--sorting myself out, sitting in a comfy chair, surfing the net, snoozing on the bed or watching TV. The French Open semi-final between Djokovic and Nadal at Roland Garros yesterday was gripping!
Terrace in the garden
The nursing staff are lovely and very kind. Amazingly the food is recognisable and reasonably edible :-) The signs are good that I'll be discharged at the start of next week.
Speedy green crutches
Thank you to everyone who has been sending me good wishes. Each and every one has been greatly appreciated.

Off for my next walkies... who knows I might even eventually make to the garden!

I hadn't realised it was all happening so soon....but haven't things gone well!
Snazzy green crutches, edible food...and that garden looks very inviting...

I'm so glad it has all gone well...I bet you have plans for what you want to do once you're up and about again.

@Fly - loads!! :-) It is just so nice to be pain free.

Good to hear that you are making great progress and above all are pain free!

Your surroundings look very nice and combined with the almost edible food and pretty garden mean that you could look at your sojurn rather like a holiday... :o).

Take care and get some rest before the onslaught of the swimming!

@Gaynor - it's a new. The room's a bit like a hospital version of Premier Inn so if you squint could could be forgiven for thinking you're on hols :-P!

Glad it's all gone well.
The green will be perfect for the garden, once you get home. :-)

@rusty - and with the height of some of our grass well nigh invisible! :-)

Hope you are up and zooming around soon.

Great news! Keep taking that exercise and I do hope you find crutches easier to manoeuvre with than I did. I was hopeless. :-) Here's to a speedy return home.

@Vera - getting there, getting there :-)

@Perpetua - Thankfully I'm not finding it difficult.

Very pleased to hear of it all going well. I thoroughly recommend swimming once you are able. My mum swears that it helped with the recovery from her identical operation hugely.

@Craig - good to hear that, I love water so it won't be a hardship.

Glad to hear it all went swimmingly!
(Sorry!)
It sounds like everything went as planned and you're doing really well, so that's great news.

Cats looking forward to your return...
we are NOT the right Staff, obviously.

So glad to hear that you are pain free...
but with all that glass around...
not "pane" free!! ;-{}

Serious, again, for a moment...
that garden must do wonders for peoples' recovery...
Every hospital should be like this one...
many try, but seem to miss out somewhere...
especially where a small, but attractive garden is buried at the bottom of a deep well of wall!!

@Jean - LOL!
Have been promoted to climbing stairs this morning.

@Tim - hope the felines aren't mis-behaving too badly. Maybe they'll appreciate us more when we're back ..[but doubt it somehow ;-)]

Do agree with you about gardens and hospitals--it makes such a difference and isn't hard to do.

Here you see through to it as you walk in the main entrance and it fills the hollow centre of the building. Niall says it is really well looked after. I've just seen it from a window on the stairs. Mind you this place is only about 4 or 5 yrs old so is pretty state of the art.
